Use Your Intuition to Create Your Life
In a world where we can have the answers to almost anything in a matter of seconds, it's so easy to get caught up in exterior happenings and solutions. And it's even easier to forget about our own inner knowing and guidance.
I talk a lot about trusting ourselves in order to create our reality as we desire it, mostly from my own experience in realizing that it was lack of self-trust that had me second guessing my entire life for so many years. What I've also realized, though, is that the lack of self-trust also comes from having so many options in the outside world - the Internet and social media influencers always seem to have the answers as to how to get more money, more followers, more beautiful, whatever, whatever.
And of course, there are the answers we find through the people in our lives. We think that we're looking for advice, but often we're looking for permission to do the things that we already know we actually want to do.
I did this for so many years - I would look at my friends' lives and see how together they looked. I would look at what I wanted for myself as so far out of reach, and then be hard on myself for being too "unrealistic". Yet the more I tried to let go of the life I dreamed for myself, the more sad and anxious I became.
This is because there is a reason that we want what we want for our own lives. Not everyone wants what you do - whether it's something material or a way that you want to feel. And even if everyone did want the same thing, why are we so programmed to believe that there's not enough to go around? But that's a topic for another post.
Look at what you want for your life. Maybe write it out, if that helps. And if you think you have no idea, start with how you want to feel. It's okay to not know all of the details, but you likely know how you want to exist day to day. Allow yourself to embody those feelings now. Give yourself permission to feel better. Know that you're worthy of whatever it is that you imagine for yourself. And trust that you, not any outside source, but you, have the answers that you need.
It's easy to look around and compare our lives to what everyone else is doing. It's easy to think that someone else's way is the "right" way. But really, the right way is your way. Allow yourself to take some space and really tune in to what your heart is asking of you. And trust what you want. If you want to go down a new career path, trust it. If you want to start making art for just you, trust it. If you want to just put on music and dance, trust it. One step at a time, create the life that you envision. It's not only possible, but it's your birthright.
